The varsity football game for Judson and Wagner is steeped in tradition. When Wagner High School opened, the formerly one high school district officially started a rivalry. To symbolize this tradition, a giant hammer trophy was created and is given to the winning team of that game.

With UIL redistricting placing both Wagner and Judson in the same district, the Hammer Bowl returned on Saturday, September 26, after a 6 year absence. The game brought the community out in droves to celebrate and support their team.
