The TX‑91st Cadet Corps successfully completed its Annual Headquarters Unit Assessment under the evaluation of Regional Director Ms. Tonia Howze, demonstrating strong preparation, discipline, and commitment to AFJROTC standards. The day began with a leadership briefing between Ms. Howze and the Cadet Corps Top 6, who presented an overview of the year’s progress, which highlighted key accomplishments that have strengthened the unit. The Corps then assembled for a full mass formation with all nine flights, which was nothing short of a thorough presentation with cohesive movement. This was followed by the 30‑step drill sequence commanded by C/CMSgt Ruben Pacheco, whose leadership and the team’s precision earned TX‑91st an exceptional performance recognition once again. The Color Guard detail delivered a very polished and respectful presentation as well, which featured C/Capt Nathan Garcia as U.S. Guard, with the detail commanded by C/Capt Priscilla Mata carrying the U.S. Flag, alongside was C/Capt Haiden Thorp who carried the Texas Flag with C/Capt Kyle Lowery serving as the Texas Guard. Their professionalism reflected the high ceremonial standards of the Corps. After the drill and evaluations, Mrs. Howze recognized three cadets for exceptional performance: C/Capt Haiden Thorp, C/Capt Aura Day, and C/CMSgt Ruben Pacheco. Ms. Howze also conducted a thorough review of the unit’s WINGS software, armory, marksmanship range, and supply areas, confirming that equipment and materials were well‑maintained, secure, and properly accounted for and organized. During fourth period, she completed in‑flight inspections across both underclassmen flights, evaluating instructor and classroom readiness, which the performances confidently upheld AFJROTC expectations. To conclude her visit, Ms. Howze met with the Logistics Squadron to discuss their responsibilities and performance. The squadron provided insight into their processes and inventory management, reinforcing their essential role in supporting the Cadet Corp.
