PSAT School Day: All 10th and 11th grade students will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday, October 28th. Study guides are available! See the Rocket Weekly for more information.
Cell Phones and Other Electronic Devices: As we move through the school year, we are starting to see more cell phones and electronic devices enabled with bluetooth. Please remind students that these are against policy required by Texas State Law HB1481 during the school day. We also appreciate that parents and guardians refrain from texting and calling their students during the school day, as it can result in the student's phone being confiscated and other consequences.
Unity Day: On October 21st, Judson High School will participate in Unity Day in support of National Bullying Prevention Month. On this day, we ask students to wear orange to show support and that no student is alone.

College and Career Resource Guide: Did you know that our CCMR Counselor puts out a newsletter each month? This amazing guide gives information regarding graduation, college planning, and more. Volunteers Needed: Judson High School, in conjunction with the San Antonio Food Bank, hosts quarterly food distribution for those in need in our community. These events require volunteers. If you or your student is available to volunteer, please contact our Social Worker, Ms. Oyola at joyola@judsonisd.org.
Attendance: Please ensure that you are sending doctor's notes and other excuses to the attendance office before/after your student is absent. Although these excuses do not apply to the 90% law for class credit, they do apply to the compulsory attendance law for excused and unexcused absences. For any questions regarding attendance, please reach out to our attendance office.

Varsity Football: This Friday's theme is PINK OUT! In observance of October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, please wear Pink on Friday for the school day and the football game. Please also ensure you check the Rocket Weekly for Spectator and Student expectations for attendees.
Senior Pictures: Another opportunity for Senior Pictures on campus is on October 10th. Please see the Rocket Weekly for more information and/or contact Ms. Romero at romero@judsonisd.org.
Art Students: If your student is enrolled in any Art course (Art, Drawing, Painting, Jewelry, Ceramics, Urban Art, or Sculpture), Art Fees are due on Thursday, October 8th.

Picture Day is Coming! Picture day for 9th-11th grades is coming on September 30, 2026. Please see the Rocket Weekly for more information!
TSI Testing: Does your student still need to be considered "College Ready?" The TSI test is offered multiple times throughout the year to ensure your student is college ready and even eligible to take dual credit courses for free! Please see the Rocket Weekly for more information about how to sign your student up for the next round of tests.
Hammer Bowl: This year marks the return of the Hammer Bowl, or the return of a Judson vs. Wagner football games! Please ensure that you read the student and spectator expectations within the Rocket Weekly.
Student IDs: Students are required to have their Student ID at all times. We have worked diligently to ensure every student has been given an ID. Make sure your student has it with them every day and can produce it upon being asked. Additionally, these IDs are required for events, including Pep Rallies and Athletic competitions.

During the 89th Legislative Session, Texas passed HB 1481. This law bans the use of personal electronic devices during the instructional day. This means students may not utilize cell phones, headphones, earbuds, or tablets from 8:40am to 4:20pm. Please discuss with your student this state law. Teachers and administrators will confiscate phones for parent pick-up.

The DSBC is an advisory committee that works with the Superintendent in an advisory role. Nomination forms are submitted by clicking THIS LINK.
The DSBC committee will meet 3 times this year at J-TECH (7990 Pat Booker Rd, Live Oak, TX 78233) from 5:30pm-6:30pm . By completing this form, you are voluntarily accepting to serve on the DSBC, or know that your nominee is interested and willing to serve and make a commitment to attend all meetings listed below. All nomination forms are online, and will be accepted through noon on Friday, August 14, 2026.

The Judson FFA program is celebrating a remarkable summer as several educators and district leaders received prestigious awards recognizing their impact on agricultural education and student success. These honors reflect the dedication and excellence that continue to define Judson ISD's agricultural science programs.
Leading the list of honorees is Michaela Steele, who was named the 2025-2026 Outstanding Area VII Administrator. This award recognizes school administrators who provide exceptional support for agricultural science and FFA programs, helping students thrive through leadership development and hands-on learning opportunities.
Judson FFA educators also earned top recognition from the Texas FFA Association. Jordan Waddle, a 2013 Judson High School graduate and former Judson FFA President, received the Area VII Outstanding Young Teacher Award. Jay Trees, a 1986 Judson High School graduate, was honored with the Area VII Outstanding Experienced Teacher Award. These awards recognize agricultural science teachers who demonstrate excellence in instruction, student leadership development, and innovative learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
At the Texas FFA State Convention, both Jay Trees and Jordan Waddle received the Honorary Lone Star FFA Degree, one of the highest honors awarded by the state association. The recognition is reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing agricultural education and the FFA program through outstanding service, leadership, and dedication to students.
Adding to these accomplishments, Jay Trees was elected State President of the Texas FFA Alumni Association, an organization that supports more than 159,000 members across Texas. A lifelong advocate for agricultural education, Trees has been involved with the Texas FFA Alumni Association since 1994 and helped charter the Judson FFA Alumni and Supporters chapter in 2005. His election reflects decades of leadership and commitment to creating opportunities for FFA students throughout the state.
Together, these achievements highlight the strong tradition of excellence within the Judson FFA program and the lasting impact of the educators and leaders who dedicate themselves to student success. Congratulations to Michaela Steele, Jordan Waddle, and Jay Trees on these well-deserved honors and for continuing to make Judson ISD proud.
